Oneonta Day Habilitation provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a welcoming place to connect, engage with their community, and build meaningful friendships.
A favorite highlight of the program is the visit from therapy dogs, Jake and Bailey, who bring joy and excitement wherever they go. As they enter the cafeteria, you can hear delighted calls of, “Look at the dogs!” Their tails wag nonstop as participants gather to give them plenty of pets and attention, creating moments of pure happiness.
Participants at Oneonta Day Hab enjoy a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, gardening, and outdoor walks. The cafeteria often becomes a hub of connection, hosting garden and book clubs where individuals share updates on their latest projects or favorite reads. Throughout the month, a variety of events—from talent shows and outdoor water activities to Valentine’s lunches and Thanksgiving dinners—create ongoing opportunities for fun, celebration, and community.

Kimberly Wright, Day Habilitation Coordinator and Individual Program Coordinator, has been employed by Springbrook for over 5 years. When Kim first started at Springbrook, she did not fully anticipate how much the role would shape her. The people she has met and the responsibilities she has embraced have consistently pushed her to grow, both professionally and personally. Through her work, she continues to develop new skills and learn more about herself.
For new employees, Kim offers an important reminder: everything we do impacts the people receiving services and the team. Leading with intention, care, and accountability makes all the difference.
